Unofficial markets continue blocking HCM City streets
Unofficial markets can still be found on streets in District 1, HCM City despite the efforts of local authorities to clear pavements of obstruction.
Such markets remain open on lots of streets in District 1 such as Co Bac, Co Giang, De Tham and Vo Van Kiet, affecting the traffic, particularly at peak hours.
Besides unofficial markets, many other local streets such as Hai Ba Trung, Nguyen Sieu and Tran Hung Dao also face piles of construction materials.
Chairman of District 1 People’s Committee Tran The Thuan has decided to set up an inspection task force on managing urban order.
The taskforce operation must be approved by Chairman Thuan. Vice Chairman of the district Doan Ngoc Hai is not allowed to directly participate in dealing with street violations by himself as previously.
The taskforce will also inspect the responsibility of local wards’ authorities in urban management.
