It is said that over 2,000 people from Vietnam and France have successfully booked the zero tickets for the Ho Chi Minh City-Paris route in April, May, August and December in a promotional program announced by the French Airline on its website. They have paid fees of VND 4.7 million (USD207) for each ticket and the bookings have been confirmed to passengers' emails. However, the airline closed its online booking system on February 14th and then emailed to passengers on February 15th informing them that tickets had been recalled due to errors with their system.

Many Vietnamese passengers have set up a group on Facebook to oppose the airline's decision and discuss possible measures to bring the case to court.

Although Air France has pledged to compensate affected passengers, passengers still expressed concern that they might only receive VND 2.2 million compensation for the ticket price and still lose the paid service fee of VND 2.5 million.

Air France was established in 1933 and now operates flights to nearly 200 destinations in 80 countries.
