Little boy battles rare cancer
A poor young woman in Ha Tinh Province is calling for financial support to help treat her 10-month-old child who is struggling with rare cancer.
Phan Thi Nhan, Duc's mother, said he was healthy at birth. When Duc was six months old, his belly swelled up and became painful. Nhan was shocked when Duc was diagnosed with cancer.
"I was shocked and scared. My son is still so small. When he looked up and smiled up at while breastfeeding, I cried," Nhan said.
Her husband works far from home and couldn't return home when their son was operated. They both fear that Duc wouldn't be able to make it.
Nhan is a farmer and struggles to pay hospital charges. They have been given money by kind neighbours but it has not been enough. Nhan is trying to borrow money everywhere she can in order to continue her son's treatment.
"Today he doesn't have to go to the hospital. But it hurts me even more seeing him smile like this," Nhan said.
