Vietnam International Café Show 2018 on horizon
The Vietnam International Café Show 2018 will take place from May 3 to 5 at the Saigon Exhibition & Convention Center (SECC) in Ho Chi Minh City’s District 7, with more than 200 booths from 100 exhibitors and brands from 12 countries.
Last year’s show saw the attendance of over 150 booths from ten countries and more than 18,000 visitors and buyers.
Coffee lovers will have the opportunity to experience cupping and brewing and learn about coffee from various professionals from Minh Long, Idocean, and Shin Coffee, among others.
The Sweet Class is an exciting class for cafe owners, consultants, and researchers and developers to learn sweet recipes under the guidance of experts from JBU, Les Vergers Du Mekong, and Barista Buddy, with topics ranging from recipes for milk tea with jelly to macchiato and smoothies, while there are also special games for visitors.
“A Cup of the World” will introduce global coffee to visitors. Baristas will serve free cups with different equipment, like V60 and phin.
Baristas will also fight it out in one of the most anticipated tournaments of the year: the Vietnam National Barista Championship (VNBC), with the winner to represent Vietnam at the World Barista Championship in June in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
The highlight of this year’s competition is the preliminary round organized at District 10’s Van Hanh Mall, with the goal of connecting coffee with those in the audience, while promoting the professionalism and the pride of Vietnamese coffee. VNBC’s final round will take place at the SECC between May 3 and 5.
A competition to promote innovative beverage and spirit recipes, the Vietnam Signature Battle (VSB), returns, with many new and exciting rules. Competitors will be more challenged as the sponsor, Rich Products Vietnam, launches a new syrup as well as other ingredients.
The winner of the 2018 VSB will receive $5,000 and have the opportunity to join training courses and participate in many activities with Rich Products Vietnam as well as compete at the World Signature Battle 2018, in Seoul, South Korea.
