DTiNews readers support blind mother and cerebral palsy child

Dantri/DTiNews readers have supported a blind woman in the Central Highlands province of Dak Nong who is taking care of her daughter struggling with cerebral palsy.

On July 15, a Dantri/DTiNews reporter granted VND85.34 million (USD3,863) for H’Jieng from Ma ethnic minority in Dak Nia Commune, Gia Nghia District.

The donation came following articles about her condition was published on Dantri/DTiNews. Many people also gave them food and clothes.

H’Jieng said that she was really happy to receive the support which helped her to have rice for daily meals, instead of eating instant noodles and soup.

H’Jieng, 46, got married for two times, however, both of the men left her. Her daughter, 21, the child of the first husband, has been bed-ridden due to cerebral palsy for many years.

After a serious illness more than 10 years ago, H’Jieng became blind, so since then she has been staying at home and unable to work. Her son who was born in her second marriage often has to come to nearby forests to work for earning living.

Some years ago, local residents joined hands to help build a small room for her family.

On behalf of local authorities, Nguyen Thai Ban, vice chairman of Dak Nia Commune People’s Committee, expressed his deep thanks to donors for their assistance to H’Jieng.
