Many flights have been rescheduled or cancelled due to the incoming tropical storm Son Tinh which is forecast to make landfall in Vietnam’s central provinces on Wednesday night.

Budget carrier Jetstar Pacific also announced to cancel some flights from and to Tho Xuan Airport in Thanh Hoa Province and Vinh Airport the same day.

Cancelled flights included BL528 from HCM City to Vinh, BL490 from HCM City to Thanh Hoa and BL491 from Thanh Hoa to HCM City.

Jetstar Pacific will provide the flights for the replacement on July 19. The airline has already informed passengers.

According to airlines, they may delay or cancel some flights at other airports if the weather is unfavourable.

Passengers are advised to frequently check weather forecasting and flight schedules.

Under aviation regulations, airlines are exempted from passenger compensation in cases where flights are delayed or cancelled because of bad weather.

Some days ago, flight BL211 conducted by Jetstar Pacific transporting 180 passengers from Noi Bai International Airport to Lien Khuong Airport in Lam Dong Province was diverted earlier to land at Cam Ranh Airport in Khanh Hoa because of the bad weather.
