Cambodian man arrested in HCM City for drugs trading

Police in HCM City have detained a Cambodian man who has been found drug dealing in the city.

Kouch Pheng Leng, 44, was arrested while he was staying at a hotel on Ma Lo Street in Binh Tan District. There, the man was caught to store two plastic bottles which contained a total 1,913 ecstasy pills, equal to 627.18 grammes.

At the police station, he admitted that he had bought the drugs from a person in Cambodia at VND100,000 (USD4.34) per pill. When coming to Vietnam, he sold each pill at VND150,000 (USD6.52), giving him a huge profit each transaction.

He confessed said that he used to rent hotel rooms in the city to deal drugs to avoid detection.

The police have continued investigating the case.
