Hanoi to apply vehicle ban on 20 streets for AFF Cup final leg

A vehicle ban will be applied on 20 streets in Hanoi today, December 15, during the final match of the AFF Suzuki Cup which will take place in My Dinh Stadium at 7.30pm.

Fans have been asked to take public transportation to the stadium. Trucks and lorries with over 500kg of goods and passengers buses with more than 16 seats will also be banned from 3 pm to 7.30 pm. Many streets to the city centre will be banned from traffic including Le Duc Tho, Le Quang Dao, Ho Tung Mau, Kim Ma, Hoang Hoa Tham, Pham Van Dong and Tran Duy Hung.

Vehicles were directed to use National Highway 32-Thang Long Boulevard-Pham Hung Street instead of National Highway 32-Lang-Hoa Lac Street to the city's centre.

Those who want to travel from and to National Highway 6 or Quang Trung and Tran Phu streets in Ha Dong to nothern provinces have been asked to take Nguyen Trai-Nguyen Xien-the Ring Road 3-Thanh Tri Bridge-National Highway 5 and Long Bien-Ly Son-Dong Tru Bridge route.

Thousands of police have been deployed at My Dinh Stadium and to regulate the traffic. They will work with other agencies.

Over 1,000 police and security guards were also assigned to My Dinh Stadium when Vietnam played the Philippines in the semi-final second leg. They were responsible for public order and curbing illegal racing after the match.
