More trains to meet Tet demand
More trains will be added to meet higher demand for the Lunar New Year.
Phung Thi Ly Ha, deputy director of Hanoi Railway Transport Co., said ticket sales outlets in localities along with using new payment methods such as MoMo, ViettelPay and VNPay had been extended so that passengers could make the payment through smartphone applications. This is aimed to ease pressure at stations at the peak times.
The online sale accounts for 44% out of the sector’s sold tickets.
By December 21, nearly 230,000 tickets were sold for Tet.
Meanwhile, airlines in Vietnam will offer 5,800 extra flights to meet travel demand for Tet. The additional fights will help to provide a total of 1.2 million seats.
The additional trains will be conducted from January 23 to February 22 on some routes.
