Top legislator starts official visit to Belarus

National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan arrived in Minsk international airport, embarking an official visit to Belarus from December 12-14.

After her successfully official visit to Russia, Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan led the high-ranking delegation to Belarus.

The visit is made at the invitation of Chairman of the Council of the Republic Mikhail Myasnikovich and Chairman of the House of Representatives of the NA of Belarus Vladimir Andreichenko.

The delegation was welcomed by Deputy Chairman of the Council of the Republic Isachenko Anatoly Mikhailovich, other officials of the Council, and Vietnamese Ambassador to Belarus Pham Hai.

The NA Chairwoman was accompanied by Deputy PM Vuong Dinh Hue, NA Vice Chairman Uong Chu Luu, Chairman of the NA’s Committee for External Relations Nguyen Van Giau, and NA Secretary General and Chairman of the NA Office Nguyen Hanh Phuc.

This was the first official trip to Belarus by Chairwoman Ngan, targeting to boost the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation between the two countries and accelerate the implementation of cooperation agreements between the two parliaments.

Two-way trade turnover grew from US$ 107.15 million in 2014 to US$ 153.4 million in the first nine months of 2019. Trade revenue is expected to reach US$ 200 million this year after standing at around US$ 100 million for many years.
