Firework displays set at many locations to welcome Lunar New Year

Many provinces and cities have announced their firework displays to welcome the Lunar New Year or Tet Festival.

The capital Hanoi will hold firework displays at 30 districts as the first day of the Lunar New Years begins on January 25.

The 15-minute firework displays will start from midnight. Six venues will see high-altitude fireworks including Hoan Kiem Lake (Hoan Kiem District), Lac Long Quan Flower Garden (Tay Ho District), My Dinh Stadium (Nam Tu Liem District), Thong Nhat Park (Hai Ba Trung District), Van Quan Lake (Ha Dong District), and Son Tay Citadel (Son Tay Town).

24 other locations will also have fireworks set off from lower heights in Thanh Xuan, Ba Dinh, Bac Tu Liem, Cau Giay, Thanh Tri, Hoang Mai, Gia Lam, Long Bien and other districts.

In Ho Chi Minh City, two locations that will see high-altitude fireworks are Sai Gon River in District 2 and the Landmark Building in Binh Thanh District.

Meanwhile, five locations with low-attitude displays include Dam Sen Park in District 11, the Park at District 9, Ben Duoc Monument in Cu Chi District, Can Gio Stadium in Can Gio District, and Nha Be District's administration centre.

Firework displays will also be held in many provinces and cities including Quang Ninh (16 locations), Hai Phong City (eight locations), Thanh Hoa (three locations) and Thua Thien-Hue (two locations).
