Northern, central regions to see rains
A cold spell has been forecast to hit the northern and central regions, causing heavy rains.
According to the National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the cold weather will affect some many localities in the northern and central regions from tomorrow, February 15. The delta region would see the lowest temperature from 13-16 degrees centigrade, while it would be below 10 for high mountainous areas.
Earlier, on January 24-25, the northern region was stuck by hail and heavy rain, damaging up to 11,900 houses with Cao Bang, Bac Kan and Lang Son being hardest-hit. A large area of crops has been ravaged.
The rainfall on January 24-25 was the highest recorded for 24 hours for the past 60 years.
