Thousands of Chinese workers in Vietnam quarantined
More than 5,000 Chinese people have been quarantined when returning to Vietnam to work according to the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs.
The authorities in 41 provinces and cities reported that 5,112 Chinese workers are being quarantined. Of which 248 cases entered Vietnam for more than 14 days ago, 1,085 cases entered Vietnam between 10-14 days ago and 3,779 cases were in Vietnam for less than 10 days.
Most of the cases are quarantined at worker dormitories. Some suspected cases are admitted to medical facilities.
On February 2, the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs sent official documents to localities authorities.
Firms are asked to temporarily stop receiving foreign workers who had visited outbreak areas and Chinese workers who return from China after the lunar new year. In cases workers had already returned to work, firms must submit the list of those workers and implement measures to monitor and quarantine the workers.
