Seven of these new patients are employees of Truong Sinh Company which provides services to Bach Mai Hospital.

One patient is a 41-year old man from Hanoi's Thanh Oai District who went to the Centre for Tropical Diseases of the Bach Mai Hospital for medical check on March 12.

All of the above patients are being treated at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Hanoi with their health reportedly in stable conditions.

The last patient is a 35-year-old Vietnamese woman who returned to Ho Chi Minh City from Greece on March 17 after transiting in Turkey. She was taken to a centralised quarantine facility in Nha Be District.

Of the total infection cases confirmed in Vietnam so far, 55 have been discharged from hospital after recovering while the rest are being treated at 22 medical facilities across the country.

Bach Mai Hospital is among two Covid-19 outbreaks in Vietnam along with Buddha Bar in HCM City. Three Covid-19 infection sources have been identified in the hospital including the Department of Neurology, the Centre for Tropical Diseases and the restaurant area operated by the Truong Sinh Company.

The hospital has been locked down since March 28 after dozens of Covid 19-cases related to the hospital were detected.
