These two new patients are both Vietnamese. One is a 50-year-old woman who is a neighbour of another Covid-19 patient in Ha Loi Village, Me Linh District in Hanoi. She has been hospitalised at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases. The village with nearly 11,000 residents has been closed for monitoring for 28 days since the morning of April 8.

Another patient is a 64-year-old man who resides in Binh Luc District in the northern province of Ha Nam. He has been hospitalised at the gastroenterology at Ha Nam Provincial General Hospital since March 20. He had fever on April 5 and had his samples taken for viral testing which showed positive for SARS-CoV-2.

He was quarantined for further treatment at the hospital while local authorities are trying to define the sources of his infection.

More than 30 doctors and health workers which have been treating the man at the Ha Nam Hospital have also been quarantined.

As of Wednesday morning, 122 patients have recovered while four others are scheduled to be given the all-clear on April 8.
