Southern localities warned of hail, heavy rains
Many localities in the southern region would face heavy rains and hail today, April 9.
According to the National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the rains would concentrate on late afternoon and the evening. Strong winds and hail would also occur.
The Central Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control has instructed southern localities to keep a closed watch on weather forecasts and ask local residents to have preventive measures, particularly those at vulnerable areas.
Rains are forecasted to affect provinces such as Tay Ninh, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Dong Thap and Ben Tre.
The rainy season has been predicted to start in the southwestern region in around ten days to come, some 5-10 days later than usual.
The southwestern region’s rainy season this year would end in the middle of November.
