Six more Covid-19 patients discharged from hospital

Six more Covid-19 patients were released from the Hanoi-based National Hospital for Tropical Diseases on May 27, bringing the total number of recovered cases in the country to 278.

 Six more Covid-19 patients were released from the Hanoi-based National Hospital for Tropical Diseases on May 27.

The six patients, two women and four men, are all Vietnamese.

Patient 19, a 64-year old woman, was admitted to the hospital on March 6. She was the most serious case treated at the Hanoi hospital so far. She also suffers from vestibular disorder and had faced critical condition for many times during the treatment. She was provided with extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) and dialysis. She experienced cardiac arrest for three times. Following efforts by doctors, on May 4, her condition considerably improved. She became conscious and could communicate. To date, she has tested negative for Covid-19 for seven times without having a fever and breathing difficulties.

Patient 52, a 24-year-old woman, was admitted to the hospital on May 11. During treatment, the patient tested negative for SARS-CoV-2 twice on May 20 and 25. She is now in stable condition without fever, cough, or breathing difficulties.

Patient 291, a 24-year-old man, was admitted to the hospital on May 17.

Patient 295, a 26-year-old man, was admitted to the hospital on May 17.

Patient 308, a 42-year-old man, was hospitalised on May 17.

Patient 324, a 18-year-old man, was admitted to the hospital on May 18.

All of them tested negative for SARS-CoV-2 twice on May 21 and 25. Currently, they are in stable condition with no fever, no cough.

All six patients will continue to be monitored at the hospital for the next 14 days, according to the National Steering Committee on Covid-19 Prevention and Control.

As of May 27, Vietnam reported no new community transmission cases for 41 days. The country's patient tally remains at 327 and no deaths have been reported.
