14 more Covid-19 patients discharged from hospital

14 more Covid-19 patients have recovered and were released from hospital in Vietnam on Monday, said the National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control.

According to the committee, 293 Covid-19 patients or 90 percent have been successfully treated so far. There are now only 35 patients left in the country.

Of the 14 patients being cleared on June 1, one was treated at Sa Dec District General Hospital in the southern province of Dong Thap and 13 others including a three-month-old child were treated at the Bac Lieu Provincial General Hospital.

The patients who are all Vietnamese returned from the Philippines and the UAE on recent repatriation flights.

They will be monitored for another 14 days at a centralised quarantine area.

As of 5pm on June 1, the patient tally remained unchanged at 328, including 188 imported cases, the committee said.

There are now 7,256 people who have been in close contact with Covid-19 patients or repatriated from the virus-hit areas are being quarantined at hospitals, centralised quarantine areas, or at home.
