Nearly 340 Vietnamese return from the UK

Nearly 340 Vietnamese citizens landed safely at the Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City on a repatriation flight on Thursday morning.

 Vietnamese people from the UK check in for the flight home.

The flight which was arranged by authorities of the two countries and the national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines carried passengers including children under the age of 18, elderly people, persons with illnesses, pregnant women, workers with expired contracts, and others with expired visas stranded in the UK due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

After arriving at the airport, all the passengers and the Vietnam Airlines flight's crew members received heath check-ups were sent to quarantine for virus prevention.

The flight previously transported passengers to Germany and medical masks as gifts from the British Embassy in Vietnam to the British government and people.

As of 6 am on June 4, Vietnam reported 328 Covid-19 patients and only 26 cases are still being treated in hospital. Among those, 13 have tested negative for the virus 1-2 times.
