Man reinfected with coronavirus following recovery in Hai Duong

A Covid-19 patient in the northern province of Hai Duong has been reinfected with SARS-CoV-2 after recovering from the disease, according to the provincial Centre for Disease Control.

The 34-year-old patient was discharged from the Hai Duong Provincial Hospital for Tropical Diseases on September 1 after testing negative for coronavirus for four consecutive times. He had also completed a further 14-day self-quarantine at home following his release from hospital.

Under the Ministry of Health's regulations, he continued to take viral testing and his samples came positive on September 20.

The patient has been sent to the Hai Duong Provincial Hospital for Tropical Diseases again for treatment and he is now in a stable health condition with no symptoms.

According to the Ministry of Health, Vietnam reported no new Covid-19 infection cases on September 21 with the total number of patients remains unchanged at 1,068.

As many as 942 patients have recovered, and there have been 35 deaths, mostly elderly people with serious underlying health conditions, the ministry said.
