Hanoi and HCM City given vaccine distribution priorities

Hanoi and HCM City have been allocated the largest number of Covid-19 vaccines.

  

Vietnam received 811,200 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine on April 1 via Covax Facility


On April 7, the Ministry of Health announced the plan to distribute 811,200 doses of Covid-19 Vaccine Astra Zeneca to 63 provinces and cities.

HCM City will be given 56,250 doses and Hanoi will be given 53,350 doses. Some provinces will also be allocated a large number of the vaccine. 43,700 doses will go to Hai Duong, 20,200 doses to Thanh Hoa, 18,500 doses to Nghe An and 13,000 doses to Bac Giang.

The managers of the National Expanded Programme on Immunisation and the expanded programmes on immunizations at localities were asked to receive, store and transfer the vaccines to local authorities.

Departments of health at all levels must hold the vaccinations immediately and complete the programme by May 15. The Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Public Security will help with the vaccination.

The second shots will be given at least four weeks after the first shot.

As of now, Vietnam has given vaccinations to 53,953 people who are health workers working directly with Covid-19 patients, members of the local steering committees for Covid-19 prevention.
