The fourth train was carried to Long Binh Depot today, June 21, for being installed on the T1 track for the trial operations. Meanwhile, the fifth is currently at Khanh Hoi Port and is scheduled to be delivered to the depot on June 23.

The three-carriage trains are 61.5 metres long and can transport 930 passengers each.

The two next trains are slated to come to HCM City in the two coming weeks.

In August last year, the first train of the project was brought to HCM City from Japan. In May this year, the route welcomed the second and third trains.

Ben Thanh-Suoi Tien, the first metro line in HCM City, has 17 trains. It has a total investment of VND47.3 trillion.

The 19.7-kilometre project, which was started in 2012, was expected to be put into official operations in the fourth quarter of this year. However, due to various reasons, including the impact of Covid-19, the project has been affected. So, in the fourth quarter of 2021, the Long Binh-Binh Thai elevated track is scheduled for the trial run.
