Contest seeks ideas to protect global environment

The British Council and UK-based Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance have launched a competition seeking ideas to protect the global environment in Vietnam and six other Asia- Pacific countries.

The competition themed “E-idea 2011” is receiving entries from Vietnam, Australia, China, Indonesia, South Korea, Thailand and Japan.

Participants aged between 18 and 35 should present ideas that help protect the global environment and cope with climate change such as waste reduction, energy reduction, water efficiency and sustainable design.

In addition to financial support, the organisers will provide winners with leadership and project management training.

Winners will also become members of the regional E-idea network and have opportunities to work with environmentalists worldwide.

Entries will be received until July 3.
