From 2011 to 2015, Ho Chi Minh City will implement 30 projects to cope with climate change, focusing on natural resource, waste, energy and land management.

The total funding for these projects is around VND4 trillion (USD193.26 million), according to the Ho Chi Minh City Steering Board for Implementing Plan against Climate Change.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Natural Resources and Environment reported that under impacts from climate change, the weather in Ho Chi Minh City will become complicated.

The districts of Binh Chanh, Can Gio and Cu Chi will suffer the most from the impacts.

Due to climate change, the city’s temperature will increase by 0.5 degree Celsius while the rainfall will increase by 0.6mm a year, making flooding more serious in the city.
