Part of the Saigon River will be isolated in order to guarantee the progress of the first section transportation of the Thu Thiem underwater tunnel.

Luong Minh Phuc, head of the management board of the East-West Avenue & Water Environment project said, “20 relevant units are ready to transport and sink down the first section of Thu Thiem underwater tunnel. We will not allow anything to negatively effect the progress of the project's implementation.”

“On March 6, we will check all technical issues, fire prevention and response activities and do a rehearsal between units,” added Phuc.

Transportation route

There will be 11 checkpoints to stop all vehicles moving towards the site and transportation route in order to make sure that nothing will go wrong during the process.

Phuc also requested that reporters and local people not try to approach the transportation team or the site because this action will distract the whole team. This project is very important not only to Ho Chi Minh City but to the country.

According to Phuc, the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City will take responsibility for filming the entire process. When they finish the video, it will be made available to the public.
