Nation celebrates 122nd birth anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh

On the 122nd birth anniversary of the late President Ho Chi Minh (May 19), the Ho Chi Minh Museum in Ho Chi Minh City held an exhibition titled “President Ho Chi Minh and the task of building, re-organising the Communist Party”.

The exhibition on the life and times of late President Ho Chi Minh opened at the Exhibition Hall of the Ho Chi Minh Museum in HCMC.

The exhibition began on May 18 with more than 200 items on display in three sections: President Ho Chi Minh-founder of Vietnam Communist Party; President Ho Chi Minh and the task of building, re-organising the Communist Party; Vietnam Communist Party follows President Ho Chi Minh’s thinking.

Nearly 100 photographs and 50 books on late President Ho Chi Minh’s life are on display at the exhibition.

The campaign to “Study and follow late President Ho Chi Minh’s moral examples” has born positive results. The campaign was launched nationwide in association with the Party’s reconstruction work.

It aims to provide a valuable and significant source of material to help Party members and researchers to explore revolutionary historical and traditional values of the nation and the ideology of late President Ho Chi Minh.

By reviewing and following President Ho Chi Minh’s thoughts one can evaluate the decisive elements of all victories of Vietnam’s revolution. The show will help younger generations to discover and glorify outstanding individuals and groups in every corner of the nation, even by overseas Vietnamese

Images of the country during its reconstruction process and the campaign to study and follow President Ho Chi Minh’s moral examples are also being shown. During his life, President Ho Chi Minh always cared about building the Communist Party in politics, ideology and organisation.

Diverse other cultural activities mark the 122nd anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh. More than 2,000 publications on President Ho Chi Minh are on display at an exhibition which opened in the northern mountainous province of Thai Nguyen. The event is being held by Thai Nguyen provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

On display at the exhibition are documentary photographs and objects during the time President Ho Chi Minh stayed in the Thai Nguyen safe zone during the resistance war against the French colonialists.

An exhibition about President Ho Chi Minh on Party building took place in the central province of Nghe An. The event was held by the Management Board for Ho Chi Minh Square and Uncle Ho Statue in Nghe An Province in coordination with the Ho Chi Minh Museum. It will run until May 31.

President Truong Tan Sang paid a working visit to the Ho Chi Minh Museum on May 16 and commended the efforts of museum staff in preserving Uncle Ho’s precious objects.

He asked the staff to improve their professional skills as well as apply advanced technology in preserving documents and objects related to President Ho Chi Minh’s revolutionary cause.

The HCMC Youth Union organised many cultural and social activities to celebrate the late President Ho Chi Minh's 122nd birthday this week. Nearly 300 outstanding students from academics, culture and sports will be honoured by local authorities at a meeting called “Beautiful Flowers” on May 19. Students and young workers are encouraged to join charity programmes that focus on the poor and orphans.
