A World Bank-funded project with investment totaling US$55.6 million will help businesses access funding resources for technological initiatives to improve the living conditions of low-income earners.
At a seminar introducing the project in HCM City on July 19, Project Management Board representative Trieu Quang Khanh, said it will focus on development in pharmaceuticals, traditional medicine, information technology and communication, agriculture, and seafood cultivation.

Eligible scientific research projects must use technology currently available in Vietnam at reasonable costs, have environmentally conscious designs, and be reasonably expected to reach completion within two to three years.

In addition, scientific research projects should encourage cooperation between researchers and their domestic and foreign business partners in a way that accounts for the particular difficulties low-income earners face in specific localities.

The project is scheduled for nationwide implementation from 2013 to 2018.
