Quadrantid meteor shower due on Jan. 4
Vietnamese people will have the chance to watch Quadrantids, one
of the strongest meteor showers of the year, on January 4.
Quadrantids can be observed from December 28, 2013 to January 12, 2014,
especially after January 4 mid-night with the number of radiant showers
reaching 50 per hour.

Tuan Duy, President of the HCM City-based Amateur Astronomy Club, said that this year the Quadrantids meteor shower is taking place in the early month of the lunar calendar, so moonlight will not affect the ability to observe it.
To enjoy the event, observers should select a location with a large clear vision away from street lights or industrial parks.
Meteor showers are said not to affect people’s eyes and health.
