Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung was speaking on December 2 at the Vietnam Business Forum 2014 (VBF)- an official dialogue channel between the Government and the Vietnamese business community.

“The Government wants to hear more from businesses and international organisations to better outline policies and mechanisms for business operations and push up sustainable economic development.

The delegates’ constructive opinions will help the Government to fine-tune policies, making them more practical and effective to provide leverage for the stronger growth of the business community.” PM Dung said.

Dung clarified Government targets set for 2015, including ensuring macro-economic stability, obtaining a 6.2% GDP growth, reducing inflation rate and budget overspending to 5%, and maintaining bad debts at a safe level.

The Government is set to focus on improving the market economy mechanism which is seen as a breakthrough in higher economic growth, reforming mechanisms, laws, administrative procedures, developing capital, monetary, labor and property markets, creating the best possible conditions for businesses to increase labour productivity and competitiveness capacity, bettering the business environment and preventing smuggling and trade of fake goods.

The Government leader also deemed anti-corruption work a priority in the future and proposed two major solutions for revamping the market economy in line with simplified administrative procedures, ensuring the transparency in asset, budget, mineral resources and State-owned enterprise (SoE) management and strictly dealing with corrupt officials.

The Government will also pay heed to guaranteeing social justice and social welfare in terms of job creation, healthcare service, educational opportunities and poverty reduction, Dung noted.
