The schools released the notice last Monday, the last day of the school year 2014 - 2015.

Le Thi Bich Hoa, of Vuong Thua Vu Street, said, "The schools should have informed us so that we had time to make plans to send our children to another school."

Hoa said that the Mua Xuan Kindergarten School was a good school, meeting national standards on education quality.

"I feel sorry that the two schools have shutdown," she said.

Nguyen Huu Mao, a resident of Cu Chinh Lan Alley, said that he had two nieces learning at the Mua Xuan Kindergarten School.

"I do not know where over 1,100 children will study after the shutdown," he said.

In response to the situation, the People's Committee of the Ward said that the two schools were under management of the Ministry of National Defence's Vietnam Air Defence and Air Force.

On May 18, the force had directed the two schools to close following the Decision No 2382/QD/BQP, issued by the ministry, to shift the school from the military kindergarten model to a public kindergarten school model under the national education system.

Pham Hong Thai, vice chairman of the ward's committee, said that it could not set up a public kindergarten school now because of lack of land.

The committee had contacted the district's Education and Training Office to find solutions for the problem.

The committee was hoping to meet the managing authority of the two schools, he said.

If not, the committee proposed to the education and training office to arrange schools for over 1,100 children.

The People's Committee of the District will work with the People's Committee of the Ward to deal with the issue tomorrow.
