China Mobile's 4G signal coverage in Hoang Sa (Paracel) archipelago is "wrongful and invalid", Foreign Affairs Ministry spokesman Le Hai Binh said at a press conference yesterday.

"We have affirmed repeatedly that Vietnam has indisputable sovereignty over Truong Sa (Spratly) and Hoang Sa (Paracel) archipelagos," he said.

"All activities taken by other countries without the permission of Vietnam in these areas is completely wrongful and invalid," Binh said in response to a reporter's question about Vietnam's attitude towards China Mobile's launch of 4G networking.

Binh also said that Vietnam, like the international community, is closely following the issue of migration in Europe.

"We believe the EU authority must take both temporary and long-term actions to resolve the issue in a humane manner and in accordance with relevant international commitments to ensure long-term peace," he said.

In response to a question about an incident in Osaka, Japan on Sunday night in which one Vietnamese was stabbed to death and two others were injured, Binh said Vietnam's Consulate in Osaka worked with local authorities to clarify information and take necessary actions to help Vietnamese citizens involved.

He said the victim killed in the incident was identified, and a Vietnamese Consulate representative visited one of the two injured victims on Wednesday.

He said the Vietnamese Embassy in Beijing and Chinese authorities also helped Lam Bich Tuyen - a Vietnamese woman who was trafficked and sold in China's Fujian Province - to return home safely last Friday.

As soon as the Foreign Affairs Ministry received a report from the Vietnam Civil Protection Agency, it instructed the embassy in Beijing to work with Chinese authorities to clarify information and take actions to protect citizens.
