DTiNews readers have donated over VND50m (USD2,200) to support two families in Nghe An Province who have lost four members in the flooding.

On October 15, representatives of DTiNews transferred USD880 to the family of Luong Van Loan in Chieng Ca 2 Village, Thanh Hoa Province. Loan lost his wife and his son to a flash flood this September. His youngest son is malnourished and Loan's health is also too weak to do hard work.

They now depend on the small fields for their daily meals. Loan said he would bring his son to Hanoi for treatment so the donation is a huge help to them.

"I want to thank everyone that help us. My son is taking medicines at home and we'll go to Hanoi the next week. We'll use this money to help my son get better, we can eat porridge but I want him to be healthy," he said.

Also on the same day, DTiNews transferred USD1,400 in donations to Vi Thi Hoa in the same commune.

Vi Thi Hoa, born in 1999, lost both parents to a flash flood and landslide in the province. Her mother's body hasn't even been found yet. Hoa is now taking care of three small siblings and her 70-year-old grandmother.

She already dropped out in order to find work to support the family.

"I'm their oldest sister so I have to take care of the family for my parents. I'll work hard so that my siblings can go to school," she said.

Representatives of the communal authorities and DTiNews visited and presented the donation from readers to Hoa.
