Long An pupils receive scholarships

According to the agreement, Grobest Industrial Vietnam Company will donate at least VND3bn (USD133,000) a year to support pupils with disadvantaged backgrounds. The pupils given a VND600,000 scholarship are from four schools in the province. All of them are from poor families but have good academic results.

Duong Cong Cuong, headmaster of Tran Chi Nam Primary School, said that many pupils from the schools are from poor families. Currently, the school still lacks classrooms, so this has obviously affected learning. Particularly, on the tidal season, the classrooms are opened from 11 am to only 3 pm. He expressed his great thanks to Grobest and called on for more supports from donors.

Thao Nhi, a pupil from Dong Thanh Primary School, said that she will use the scholarship to buy medicines for her maternal grandmother. She will try to study well to fulfill her dream of becoming a doctor in the near future.
