Danang resort complex project halted
The Da Phuoc new urban area project in Danang City has been halted for construction violations.
In 2008, The Sunrise Bay Company, previously named Dea Won Catavil, was given permit to build an embankment. In January 2017, it was given a building permit for Da Phuoc new urban area project. The investor was asked to conduct environmental impact and fire safety reports for the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.
While the reports were being assessed, the investors already started the construction.
However, the inspectors then suspended the construction of a drainage ditch as the environmental impact report for Da Phuoc urban area project hadn't been approved.
"In accordance with the law, we have asked the construction unit to stop until all required papers are cleared and the procedures are followed," said Tran Van Dung, chief inspector of Danang Department of Construction.
Da Phuoc new urban area project covers 230 hectares at Danang Bay, along Nguyen Tat Thanh Street. The project includes a resort, a golf course, a wharf, shopping centre and villas and apartment buildings for 8,500 households.
