Baby suspected of being smothered by sleeping father
A two-month-old baby in the southern city of Binh Duong has been allegedly smothered to death by its sleeping father who had gone to bed after drinking.
According to initial investigations, the baby was brought to Hoan Hao General Hospital at 7.30 am. Doctors at the hospital said that the baby died before it was taken to hospital.
The baby's mother said that her daughter had no health problems. At 5am that day she breastfed her before going to work at a nearby market. She laid the baby next to her husband who was asleep. And she returned after a while to find her baby bleeding from the nose and turning pale and motionless while the father was still sleeping.
Police said that the baby might have been accidentally smothered by the sleeping father.
Police arrive the hospital to investigate the death of the baby on June 21.
