Local budget carrier Jetstar Pacific Airlines has officially launched direct flights from Hanoi and Da Nang to Osaka in Japan.

Using Boeing 787 and Airbus A350-900 XWB aircraft, flights departing from Hanoi and Da Nang will begin in early September, with four return flights per week from both. Tickets are on sale from June 26.

Jetstar said the new routes will meet increasing demand for low-cost travel between the two cities and Osaka. “We are delighted to announce the new routes, which will contribute to connecting the two countries,” said Mr. Nguyen Quoc Phuong, General Director of Jetstar Pacific. “Jetstar Pacific aims to make it easier for travelers and businesspeople to travel and discover new places at affordable prices.”

To mark the launch, Jetstar Pacific is offering preferential prices of only from VND1,280,000 ($56.3) on one-way tickets, excluding taxes and fees.

Aviation between the two countries carried over 1.1 million passengers in 2016, including 740,000 Japanese people coming to Vietnam. The number is expected to increase by 15 to 20 per cent in the near future thanks to these newly-launched low-cost direct flights.
