Coach assistant criticised for rude behaviour to foreigners
A video of a quarrel between a Vietnamese coach assistant and two foreign passengers has gone viral on the internet.
The short video was shared by a Taiwanese woman who was in the same coach which travelled from Hanoi to HCM City. She said that she was really shocked to see how the coach assistant named Dang Mau Thanh Binh, 30, behaved with the two foreigners.
When the coach ran through Nha Trang City, the two foreigners felt tired, so they asked the assistant for them to move to the seats near the window so that they could be better. However, Binh objected and swore at the foreigners and then threw their baggage to the ground.
The Taiwanese woman said that the two passengers begged for the seat change for many times, but the assistant ignored and even threatened them. She also threatened another passenger who tried to end the dispute. “This is a bad experience during my tour to Vietnam this time,” she added.
After being share on Facebook, many people strongly opposed the assistant’s behaviour. “The coach assistant should not have behaved that way, particularly with women. This has affected Vietnam’s image among foreigners,” commented a Facebooker.
Another Facebooker named Duong Tuan Anh said “I was really shocked at the way Binh acted in the case. He would be punished for what he had done.”
According to Le Thi My Thao, representative from the company which operates the coach, Binh has been suspended from his work for his behaviour to the two foreign passengers.
Binh, however, said that while arranging the seats for passengers to leave Nha Trang to HCM City, he found the two foreigners sit in the wrong place. He reminded them and suddenly they spit in his face, causing him to be angry.
