Celebrity prostitution ring under investigation
The police in HCM City are conducting an investigation into a large prostitution ring which involves local models and actresses.
The prostitutes told police they had three pimps and two were the runner up and a winner of two local beauty contests in 2017. According to the police, the pimps later admitted that they were pimping out the women at the prices of VND15m (USD660) to VND30m. They will earn 20% of the commission fee.
It was claimed that Nguyen Thi N. used her connections to form the prostitution ring and always have about 30 celebrities ready to work. There are many models and singers involved in this ring.
Meanwhile, Pham Thi Thanh H. was said to have pimped out actresses and beauty queens at the prices of USD1,000 to USD2,500. She also had 15 celebrities ready for clients.
They also sent the women on sex tours to famous locations in Vietnam such as Nha Trang or Phu Quoc, or overseas such as Thailand or Singapore for USD1,000 a day.
The police are expanding the investigation.
