A truck was crushed after being hit by a train in Hanoi's Thuong Tin District on Wednesday morning.
Chairman of the communal people's committee, Nguyen Tien, said that the truck driver failed to notice the warning signs at the crossing.
"The truck was split into two with its body pushed some 20 metres and totally crushed out," Tien said. "Luckily the driver only had slight injuries."
The accident has caused serious traffic jams on the Highway 1 during morning rush hours.
Nine buffaloes were killed while using an illegal crossing in the central province of Ha Tinh Monday and Tuesday.
