Man faces nine-month flight ban for explosives threat

The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) has just banned a male passenger from flying for nine months after he made a bomb threat on a recent flight.

According to CAAV, passenger Le Tuan Huu, 26, who lives in Hanoi’s Gia Lam District took a flight from Hanoi to Cam Ranh, Khanh Hoa Province, on September 16. During the time for security check at Noi Bai International Airport’s domestic terminal, he threatened that he would detonate an explosive on the flight.

Huu violated the aviation regulations, so he has banned from all flights for nine months, starting from September 16, 2017. For the next six months, he will have to face security visual inspection at airports until 15, December 2018.

The CAAV has required Vietnamese and foreign airlines which operate in Vietnam to refuse to transport Tuan during the banned time.

Airports have also instructed to tighten control over the security check to prevent Tuan from flights during the banned time as well as apply the visual inspection on his case.
