 >>  Floods and landslides kill 72 in northern Vietnam
Many tourism sites in the northern province of Ninh Binh, including Trang An eco-tourism complex, have temporarily halted welcoming visitors due to being flooded.

Many northern provinces, including Ninh Binh, have faced heavy rains since October 11. Tourism sites in Ninh Binh such as Kenh Ga, Con Noi, Van Long Nature Reserve, Tam Coc-Bich Dong and Trang An eco-tourism complex are still facing the flooding.

The roads to Vuc Vong Temple in Hoa Lu District are flooded on October 16.

Nguyen Xuan Quang, head of the Van Long Nature Reserve management  board, said that some parts of the area are still under water, so they can’t receive travellers. Flooding makes it unsafe for transporting tourists.

“Over the recent days, many visitors have come to the reserve, but they can’t really enter,” Quang added.

Since October 11, the management board of Trang An eco-tourism complex has also refused entry to visitors in flooded areas.

Trang An eco-tourism complex is heavily flooded on October 16.

Hoang Thu Huong, a representative from Trang An eco-tourism complex, said that the management board will pay attention to waterway transport safety and environmental hygiene after the water subsides.

"We hope to reopen the site on October 19," Huong said.

Recent floods and landslides in Vietnam have killed at least 72 people and left another 30 missing and 30 others injured, according to the Central Steering Committee for Flood and Storm Control.
