Police investigate random shootings in Vinh Phuc
Police in the northern province of Vinh Phuc are investigating random shootings by a mystery gun-user which have injured two local residents.
Over the past four months, people in Binh Xuyen District’s Gia Khanh Town have experienced five random shooting incidents.
On June 14, while teacher Dang Thi Nga at Hoa My Nursery School was sitting with her pupils in the class, a bullet hit the forehead of a three-year-old boy named Nguyen Hai Phong after being shot through the class’s metal sheet roof.
Luckily, the bullet entered his cheek, so he was saved. Nga said she saw the bullet trace on his face.
About two weeks ago, when going to a local pagoda for the worship, a local woman named Nguyen Thi Ly was also injured by a stray bullet which entered her chest. She was quickly hospitalised and saved after that.
Three other cases saw the same random shots which caused no injuries.
