A mother in the northern province of Ha Nam was shocked to discover her two-month-old child had been abused by their family’s babysitter.

The cruel actions of the babysitter were revealed in a video clip posted on the mother’s Facebook on November 22.

The child is mistreated by the babysitter

The mother posted the clip taken from her family’s camera with the status saying that “I have seen some clips in which children were being mistreated by their babysitter. But I can’t imagine this was happening to my baby who is just one month and 17 days old. Whenever I go out of the house, she behaves brutally to her. I have just published this clip to begin with. There are many other similar clips to be posted later.”

According to the clip, the babysitter slapped the child’s face and head and tossed the crying baby like a ball. The camera showed that she was abused on November 20 and 21.

The mother said that her family had hired the 58-year old babysitter from Nam Dinh Province through a job broker for two months.

She said that she had installed the camera after becoming concerned at the child’s strange behaviour, including loud crying. Her family have informed the local authorities of the incident.

Lieutenant-colonel Le Duc Tung, head of Phu Ly City’s Board of Police, said the babysitter was asked to visit the police station for questioning. Further investigation will be conducted.
