State employees will enjoy a 7-day break for Tet Holiday this year, from February 14 to 20.

The Government Office has sent prime ministerial approved document about Tet Holiday break for state employees to the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs. The ministry's Department of Work Safety will complete the procedures and sent the official announcement for the ministry's approval.

Labours will be off from February 14 to February 20. As February 17 (Saturday) and 18 (Sunday) are the second and third days of the lunar new year, civil servants will have two extra days off, on February 19 and February 20.

The prime minister asked state agencies to arrange shifts so that the work will not be interrupted.

The Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs submitted two different plans and asked for opinions from other ministries in October. In the other plan, employees will take the break from February 15 to 21.

As the Lunar New Year starts on February 16, the plan that let officials take days off from February 14 is favoured as it is more balanced. Employees will have two days of before and after Tet.
