Accordingly, the operational period for the pedestrianised zone at HoanKiem Lake will be from 7pm on December 29, 2017 (Friday) to 0:00am on January 1, 2018 (Monday).

This is to accommodate a variety of art music performances being held during the New Year 2018 holiday such as the New Year 2018 Countdown Festivals at August Revolution Square, Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square, and the flower garden area near the statue of King Ly Thai To.

In addition, several exhibitions will be organized around the city centre to provide visitors with insights into Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago and the cultures of different regions around the country.
