Hoan Kiem District authorities are attempting to improve management and the pedestrianised environment.

They also worked with the Department of Culture and Sports to hold various cultural events, traditional games for visitors, and reorganise the surrounding environment with suitable businesses.

The local authorities are urged to quickly complete any design and construction work for the Tet Holiday. The art project to turn railway viaduct spans on Phung Hung Street into a canvas with South Korean artists will be decorated.

On February 2, the district authorities organised a ceremony to kick off traditional flower markets and introduce murals on vaults of Phung Hung Street. The event aims at promoting the value of the railway viaduct arches leading to Long Bien Bridge; diversifying art exchange activities and creating a new cultural environment.

If the directives are successfully implemented then Hanoi authorities may expand the pedestrianised area. The city authorities already confirmed to have been preparing the plan in the recent announcement about pedestrianised area.
