Vietnamese American prosecuted for smuggling through airport
Police in HCM City have decided to prosecute a Vietnamese American who brought large numbers of high-value electronic products through Tan Son Nhat International Airport.
Anthony Nguyen, 42, was detained at Tan Son Nhat International Airport on March 5 while being bringing in VND1.2-billion (USD54,545) worth of goods.
The products included 38 iPhones, 18 iPads, four Macbooks, 20 watches, five Note 8 mobile phones and several other items.
Anthony Nguy admitted that he and another person bought the products in the US and then brought them to Vietnam for resale.
