Hanoi proposes public land auctions for metro projects
Hanoi authorities have proposed to Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc some specific mechanisms for the implementing of three more metro projects by 2025.
The projects would cost VND125.6 trillion (USD5.7 billion) and are expected to be carried out between 2018 and 2024 for being put into operation in 2025.
8.7-kilometre Line 3 will connect Hanoi Station in Dong Da District to Hoang Mai District.
Line 5 running 38.4 kilometres will run from Van Cao Street in Dong Da District to Hoa Lac Commune in Thach That District.
Hanoi authorities are seeking the prime minister’s approval for the city to auction public land and houses as part of the investment source for the projects.
The city also plans to issue construction bonds to raise capital investment for the metro projects.
