Management over flycam drones tightened before Hung Kings Festival
Authorities in the northern province of Phu Tho said they would tighten the use of flycams during the Hung Kings Festival.
According to chairman of Phu Tho Provincial People's Committee, Ha Ke San, flycam drones have been used widely in various provincial festivals in even though the owners hadn't been licensed. He went on to say that unlicensed drones may pose a threat to aviation safety and national security.
The organisation board of Hung Kings Festival asked related agencies to popularise the regulations. The Department of Information and Communication and the military command in Phu Tho Province must notify the organisations and individuals that have demands to use flycam to apply for licenses a week before the flight.
The users must also register the time and location of the flight and follow the directives from the supervisory agency.
Drones are banned from 6 am to 8.30 am on April 25, at Thuong Temple, to ensure the security and the solemn atmosphere of the ceremony. The provincial authorities also asked local police to work with security guards to monitor the situation and strictly deal with violators.
Hung Kings Festival will take place between April 21 and 25. The northern province of Thai Nguyen, the central province of Quang Nam and the southern provinces of Binh Duong and Kien Giang will jointly hold the festival with Phu Tho Province. The five provinces will agree on the financial contribution for the festival as well as an upgrade the Hung Kings Temple Site, depending on their capacity.
