Hanoi calls for summer energy saving
Hanoi Power Corporation (EVN Hanoi) is asking customers to use power wisely during summer months to avoid power cuts.
EVN Hanoi pointed out that since early June, power consumption in the city reached 70.47 million kWh. EVN Hanoi asked its customers to save power as much as possible. It advised customers to set air-conditioners at 26 degrees at the lowest.
Since the equipment's capacity is also affected by the heat, residents are told to try to place their equipment in shaded spots and turn off those that are not in use, especially during peak times from 11 am to 2 pm and 6 pm to 11 pm.
May, June and July are often the hottest months of the year. The northern and central provinces from Thanh Hoa to Phu Yen, have the highest temperature ranging up to 40 degrees during this heat wave. The regions experience from 11 to 16 hours of average temperatures above 35 degrees.
The temperatures in the southern region are from 25 to 34 degrees with thunderstorms in the afternoon.
